See? I told you she was adorable. Here she is again with me. Each morning we take a picture to send to daddy. This is one from a few months ago. Every year, I have 365 days worth charted of cuteness and growth. When I look back on all my morning quick pics, it amazes me how fast little ones grow up. Apparently, I need to have someone take some pictures of us a family, though, because I can't find one recent picture of both my husband and I with Chloe.
When I'm not playing mommy, my days are spent as a middle school Language Arts teacher, teaching pre-pubescent littles, most of which walk around with a slight hue of B.O., how to sound smart, write well, and read more than just hashtags. I love my job, and I adore my kids. They are the best. I've also been the 8th grade cheer coach for the last nine years! Some call me crazy, but cheerleading truly is a blast...most days. I could do without those emotionally charged, drama filled, they all have PMS at the same time moments. :/
Being an English teacher, and a true writer at heart, this little page could get quite lengthy if I don't control myself. Seriously, right now I have over twenty-something items on my "must include on my About Me page" note safely saved into my iPhone. I'm no fool, though. You'd be gray haired and wrinkly, or at least bored beyond belief, before you finished reading. Solution? [Insert Type A personality here] I am an obsessive list maker. I have a whole spiral devoted solely to lists. Just take a look below...
Seriously, I wasn't kidding. To top that off, I have archives of past ones on my bookshelf. Yes, I know, lame. When in doubt, make a list! Thus, here you have it. My list of what makes me, me and what I can't live without.
Me, In A List of Twenty:
1. Obsessive Buckle jean wearer {We're talking upwards of 20 pairs}
2. Cork wedge collector
3. Diet Dr. Pepper Drinker {My accessory to any outfit, any day, any time}
4. NKOTB lifer
5. Dancer, hip shaker, two stepper. {If there's music, I will dance.}
6. Quick witted {Some might call it smart mouthed, but I choose quick witted.}
7. Pitbull fan
8. Kenny Chesney's voice gives me goosebumps {notice the repetition of short, bald men?}
9. Opinionated, to say the least
10. A dotter of i's, and a crosser of t's {Seriously. Thorough. About. Everything.} #itsannoying
11. Creature of habit
12. Whataburger taquito lover {no meat, please!}
13. Perfectionistic {see #10}14. 24/7 teacher {my poor husband}
15. Tori Spelling is my celebrity best friend {#soulsistas}
16. Traveler {This year I've been to New York, D.C., Cabo San Lucas, San Francisco, Branson, and Rome.}
17. List maker
18. Chocolate lover
19. Runner
20. Mexican food obsessed {I once worked at On The Border for the discount.}
There you have it! Me, in a list of twenty.
Now, I was sharing a few fun little tid bits of information with a class the other day that was kind of interesting, at least to them, when I decided that I should put a "Little Known Facts" list on this little page. Tell me, how many of these did you know???
Top 10 Fun Facts About Me:
1. I've talked my way on to both Clay Walker's and Howie and AJ's [from the Backstreet Boys] buses. Just call me smooth. Or lame... Or stupid.... ;)
2. When I sleep, I must have the covers over my head, and I make a little tiny peep hole for my nose, so I can have fresh air.
3. Reality tv is my vice, and it has been since 1992 when the first Real Word season premiered. I've been hooked ever since! My current favorites are Real Housewives of Anything [except Atlanta], True Tori, and 19 Kids and Counting.
4. My all time favorite movie is Dirty Dancing.
5. I love music with a Latin beat and used to even own Ricky Martin's Spanish cds. That was, before he #shebanged and #livedlavidaloca. I'm talking his General Hospital days.
6. The list of celebrities I've met is quite extensive. At least, I think so. It's certainly over the twenty range. I can count the likes of Black Sabbath, Korn, Brian McKnight, countless early 2000 boy bands, Jordan Knight, Phil McGraw, Troy Aikman, Hershell Walker, Jon Bon Jovi, and who knows who else. I'd have to get my box-o-memorabilia out of the attic to create a complete list. I worked at a very large, very popular music store in my later high school and early college years. Let's just say, it had it's perks.
7. I am a huge believer in psychic mediums and have been since before it was hip and cool. In fact, years ago, at an event with John Edward, he was seeking me out in a crowd. I KNOW he was looking for me; and, getting very frustrated that I wouldn't answer. Long story short, I grabbed my best friend's hand, held on for dear life, freaked out, and froze up. This is seriously one of my biggest regrets. Maybe I'll make this story a blog post.
8. I've had the same best friend since 4th grade. She's my other soul sister. We are both NKOTB lifers, share a love for Patrick Swayze, and my concert shenanigan partner.
9. In college, I graduated first in my class.
10. Back in my college years, I got to spend a week over Christmas break with one of the Statler Brothers in Nashville. We visited all his country music friends, watched the Christmas cards from the likes of musicians I only know from the radio trail in, and paid our respects to the late Johnny Cash whom had just recently passed away at that point. It was my little glimmer into the life of a country music artist.
I guess that's about all you really need to know about me. Welcome to my page; sit down, put your feet up, and take a little glimpse into my world. Hopefully, you'll like what you find. :)
